A Surprise Find! February 4, 2009

Filed under: England, Spain, Undated — Invisible Woman @ 10:20 pm

This evening a friend of mine were reminiscing a particular time and I commented that I had old photos somewhere and he was keen to see, as I was rummaging around in my old photo piles and found a bunch of postcards from a few years ago that I must have packed away with my photos when I emigrated.

Firstly a few postcards I picked up on a weekend trip to Barcelona for a surprise 21st birthday -

barcelonaThis is the Sagrada Familia, designed by Gaudi . Construction began in 1882 and continues to this day.

segradaThis is another shot of Segrada Familia.

picasso2-medium I picked these two postcards (above and below) at Museu Picasso de Barcelona. The portrait below reminded me of someone I knew.

These next few postcards I picked up on my trip to cornwall -

stonehenge1The beautiful Stonehenge

mousehole1One of my favourite places in Cornwall – Mousehole. I have a lot of fond memories of this little harbour village  :)

mousjhole2Including its cheesy Christmas lights!

These last few I picked up on my outing to Lands End in Cornwall

Canyonlands

This postcard is from Nova :) The back of the card says – “Elephant Canyons, Red and white layers of Cedar Mesa sandstone form the impresssive spires located in the Needles district. Ancient faults and fractures cracked the rock into massive rectangular blocks. Over time, erosion widened the cracks and a fantastic landscape of varied shapes emerged. Spires and pinnacles reach skyward and mushroom-like rocks hug the ground. In the distance, Junction Butte and the Island in the Sky District are silouetted against the horizon”
