Jean-Baptiste Monge August 3, 2009

I recieved this postcard in my letter from Valériane today. I love it I really do, I had commented to her in her last letter how much I liked the illustrations on her paper so she sent me this postcard by Jean-Baptiste Monge. Being a rattie person I know that look on the mouses face very well and there is something very mischevious on the face of the gnome, wonderful. Thank you Valériane and congratulations on your new baby boy Isaac! :)

Filed under: France — Invisible Woman @ 4:49 pm

This postcard arrived shortly after the last one in a letter from Valériane in France. It shows the wood carvings on churches and chapels around Brittany. The top one is in Notre-Dame-de-Crénéan en Ploërdut, the middle is from Saint Thomas church in Landerneau and the bottom one is from the Notre-Dame-du-Tertre chapel in Châtelaudren.

This stunning sunset (?) is a view over Nantes in France, and im guessing a cathedral or church there. This postcard was sent to my by my French penpal Valériane.

This was a long slender postcard so hard to get the detail in one shot, but my photography skils are clearly lacking anyway – so here is a closer look.

Rouen January 2, 2008

RouenThis postcard was collected by my dad on his holiday to Rouen in France.  It is a painting by Claude Monet titled ‘Portail de la cathédrale de Rouen par temps gris’ (Portal of the Cathedral of Rouen in grey weather) . According to my dad the picture is clearer the further away you stand – but thats typical of him :p
